The U.S. Canoe and Kayak Team is back on deck in London this week: kayaker Carrie Johnson races in the K1 500-meter sprint early Tuesday morning. If you’re an East Coast morning person, you can watch it live online HERE at 5:07 a.m. eastern time.
A three-time Olympian, Johnson trained for the London games in Pusiano, Italy in the weeks leading up to her races. In Beijing 2008 and Athens 2004, Johnson just missed out on advancing to finals but hopes to reach finals and even medal this year.
On Friday, Johnson and teammate Tim Hornsby will race in the 200m event, which is making its debut at the London games.
