Paddle For a Cause in Mankato this Weekend

Paddle Jam 2.0 is bringing together music and water in Mankato this Saturday, August 10, and all in the name of a good cause. Proceeds for the event will benefit the Reach Drop-in Center, which serves homeless youth in Mankato.

Start by paddling or kayaking down the Minnesota River (shuttle services are available), and follow it up with great music, food, drinks, and lawn games at Riverfront Park. There will also be kayak and SUP races throughout the day, and you’ll be rocking out to the music of Good Night Gold Dust, Tinderbox, Beg For Justice, and The Last Revel (formely The Bitter Root Band).

Here’s the scoop on registration from race organizers:

$10 for music only; $20 for music with shuttle to Sibley Park or Judson (with own boat);10:30am river trip from Judson to Riverfront Park – $40 per kayak or $60 per tandem/canoe includes shuttle service to Judson and music ticket.  Check in at Riverfront Park Pavilion.

Kayak float and shuttle service throughout the day from 10:30am-6pm between Riverfront Park & Sibley Park.  $25 for kayak rental, $50 for canoe/tandem kayak includes shuttle to Sibley Park and music ticket.  Check in at Riverfront Park Pavilion.

SUP and kayak race individual and team entry fee $25 per person. Prizes awarded to top teams.  Register at the Riverfront Park Pavilion between 11am-4pm – timed race heats throughout the day.

Tickets available at Bent River Outfitter and Strange Design at 530 N Riverfront Drive or at the gate the day of the event.
