The Mother Earth News web site regularly re-publishes articles from their archives. Recently, they re-ran THIS 1970 piece about a canoe trip from Loudenville, Ohio to New Orleans.
We enjoyed the story, especially author Cindy Cooper’s take on planning:
“Do not plan. Plans mess up everything. Too many beautiful trips have been ruined by planning when, where and what. Let things happen as they may and leave the planning to Greyhound.”
Cooper, and her husband Steve, made their unplanned, nine and a half week trip for a mere $200!
