Wisconsin Canoe Museum to Open Soon
10 Aug
The best things are worth waiting for.
That’s probably the attitude people anxious to visit the Wisconson Canoe Heritage Museum should take. The attraction being established in Spooner, Wisconsin, which organizers had hoped to open by Memorial Day, is now racing to welcome visitors by Labor Day, according to THIS Eau Claire Leader-Telegram story.
The museum is being established with some two dozen canoes collected over the years by Jeff and Jill Dean of Madison. The museum plans to display roughly 30 canoes and tell the story of the canoe from prehistoric times to the present.
The city of Spooner, located in northern Wisconsin, has spent $115,000 toward establishing the attraction, which volunteers are now readying for visitors.
