An Icy Goose Hunt by Canoe and Sled

The Minneapolis Star Tribune recently ran THIS interesting story about a late season goose hunt, on an icy river, using a canoe and a sled.
It’s a canoe-hunt for the hardy, as this quote from Dennis Anderson’s story attests:
“The river ice was precarious, not quite solid, not quite weak, and en route back from the hunt he was forced to tread water along side the canoe for about two hours, during which he tried in vain to find ice strong enough to support him.”
